The CRF have hosted a number of U17 Training Camps under the supervision of FIRA AER.
The first was held in Pafos in November 2007, with IRFU Coach Henrik Kruger taking the lead, with the assistance of local CRF coaches. Over 40 players split between Cyprus and Greece attended the week long camp. To date, 4 players who attended the course have gone on to represent Cyprus at XVs and Sevens, there is a feature on two of these players on the CRF Academy Page.
The second camp was again held in Pafos, with the National Stadium, The Pafiakos, hosting the week-long camp. This time over 30 players from Cyprus and Israel were working under the guidance of world renowned French coach Pierre Villepreux, assisted by members of the CRF. The boys that attended were able to enjoy a number of RWC 2009 games at their hotel in between coaching sessions.
The CRF is currently planning its next U17 Training Camp - this time players will be given the opportunity to travel to Israel for the week long camp, during the Summer Holidays. Planning is currently underway and if anyone wishes to take part they should contact the CRF Development Officer,
at the earliest opportunity. Players should be aged 16/17. Further information will be available on request.
