Under the watchful eye of the CRF Development Officer, Nick Charalamides, 2 young teams met to play in a friendly tag game before Cyprus took on Greece in the penultimate game of the season.
Representing the Heritage School in Limassol and the Paphos Tigers Academy, the mixed teams of Under 12s enjoyed some running rugby with Heritage School eventually running out winners - Well Done!
Once the game was completed, the children went to the stand to watch the national team; also in the crowd were 50 pupils from the A.Demotico State School in Dali near Nicosia. They were on a school trip and enjoyed the game, taking back some tips for their next game of Tag Rugby, which is now played regularly in the school.
The CRF would like to take this opportunity to thank 1 Tier Rugby for their very kind donation of 12 match balls. These balls will be distributed by the CRF to the numerous teams that are now playing tag regularly all over the Island.
During the day, Mrs Eleni Georgiou, headmistress of Alpha Dimotiko School Dali was presented a ball for the school. Apparently they were so enthused by what they saw that the headmistress informs us that the boys have been playing rugby in the playground every break-time.
