Other Announcements
As you know, the Mighty Mouflons were due to kick off the Rugby Europe Conference 2023/24 Pool D campaign against Israel on the 21 October, however due to the ongoing situation Israel’s matches have been postponed. We now play our first match away to familiar opponents Malta on 4 November 2023, kicking off at 14:00 local time (15:00 Cyprus) at the Tony Bezzina Stadium, Paola. Over the years we have had some great battles with Malta and this, our sixth match against them, sees four new names added to the travelling squad, who are in line for a debut in a Cyprus jersey. If you cannot make it to Malta and want to watch the game, head to CR TV.
It’s Rugby World Cup final week and the CRF president, Constantinos Constantinides, is in Paris to watch the game as well as attending the 16th World Rugby General Assembly alongside fellow international union presidents and CEOs (the RFU and New Zealand Rugby included!). France has hosted an amazing RWC, with some excellent matches being played. We’ve been so pleased to see the so called “smaller teams” do well and earn the recognition they deserve. Only one team can win the World Cup for a fourth time, but we are sure you will agree that rugby is the real winner in this tournament.
