Our first ladies and youths training day took place on 5 February 2022 in at the Pyla Community Stadium in Larnaca.
This event was kindly hosted by Larnaca Spartans Rugby Club, after the original date in December 2021 was rescheduled due to Covid restrictions. The training day was attended by players from the various clubs in Cyprus and was deemed to be a success by everyone.
Cyprus Rugby Federation is committed to growing the sport on our beautiful island with the ladies and youths being an important part of our long-term targets and strategy. Larnaca Spartans Rugby Club has already started to establish its ladies’ team and the youth rugby is increasing year on year.
The training session was run by the Federation’s own Rick Wadmore (Technical Director) and Dave Lee (Development Director) with Mark La Pou from Spartans club. Our own President Constantinos Constantinides was there to watch the next generation that will hopefully be representing Cyprus in the future.
If you would like to start playing rugby, please find your nearest club and contact them directly for more information on joining.
